David Jarvis has been a fixture of the local housing market in his role as Houston director of consulting firm Metrostudy for nearly two decades. Now he has a new gig!

Jarvis has joined McAlister Investment Real Estate. He is executive vice president and will manage real estate acquisitions, deal structuring and market research, the company announced.

Jarvis won’t just study the market in his new role, he will take part in it, putting land deals together as Houston goes through a real estate boom.

“Right now, we are in a major real estate investors market,” partner Jim McAlister Sr. said. “We need to have the technical information to know what product we should buy, what price we should pay and where we should buy it. That’s what Jarvis will do for us. His books are on every developer’s desk in the city.”

“We’re getting significant price rises in houses and in land because of the short supply and the heavy demand from all the people coming into town,” McAlister said.
